Charm Darby is truly a modern woman of the 21st Century.

She is a financial planner, an author, poet, painter, political and social activist and a public speaker.

Charm considers herself to be a renaissance woman.

At 54, she claims to be a late bloomer. A fitness buff, Charm works on her body as much as she works on her mind and her spirit. She is an avid runner, cyclist and loves to hike. She recently took up down hill skiing and yoga and has a gym membership to maintain her body for life. Charm believes in being a complete person and continues to persue a well balanced lifestyle in mind, body and spirt. Charm's goal is to be a source of inspiration and empowerment to women everywhere.

Of course, it’s not easy. First, you have to decide in your mind who you want to be and what you are prepared to do in order to make the changes required to live the life you imagine.

What are you prepared to do? Are you prepared to be honest with yourself? Are you prepared to take the necessary steps required to put thought into action?

Because that is what reality is all about thought, action then manifestation.

So often I’ve talked to friends and colleagues of mine who are constantly on a diet. Trying to lose weight because they are going to the Caribbean, or going on a cruise. Or they want to be bikini ready for the summer time. Whatever the purpose, their effort is always short lived because they have not really made up their mind to make a real change in the way they think about their bodies, their food intake nor consider that they have control over what they choose to put in their mouths.

This is really difficult for some people. But, there is hope. I believe I can help you to develop the kind of attitude and self-awareness required to be successful in taking control of your emotional, physical and spiritual well being.

It is never too late to start the self –renewing process – no matter what age you are at. Age, in my mind is just a number so please don’t get bogged down by it.

First thing first, use your imagination. Develop a love relationship with your body. Recognize its usefulness and how well it serves you. Pretend it’s your pet – a pet that depends upon you for nourishment and exercise. Can you imagine having a pet that you didn’t care for? Of course not! Everybody loves his or her pet. Your body is no different. See it in a new light. Create a new vision for its highest expression. Be gentle with yourself your body – your soul – your spirit needs you. Do not deny or betray it.

It will be with you for as long as you are alive. It is indeed your best friend. I promise you this. If you decide right now to love this vehicle that you drive around in everyday you will have a new awareness and your responsibility to its health and wellbeing will be realized.

Things You Can Do to Enrich your Life

  1. Develop a daily routine of exercise
  2. Pay more attention to the food you eat
  3. Develop some creative expression –
  4. Join a gym and enrol in-group exercise
  5. Meditate – take a few minutes everyday to give thanks and praise
  6. Live a life of immense gratitudeFill your thoughts with thoughts of joy and love
  7. Treat everyone like a friend
  8. Take ownership of your own happiness
  9. And if there is to be peace – let it begins with you
